Terraform Infrastructure Workflow
Overview
Specialized workflow for infrastructure as code using Terraform including resource provisioning, module creation, state management, and multi-environment deployments.
When to Use This Workflow
Use this workflow when:
- Provisioning cloud infrastructure
- Creating Terraform modules
- Managing multi-environment infra
- Implementing IaC best practices
- Setting up Terraform workflows

Before any apply, state migration, import or destroy, confirm the account/project, region, backend, workspace and allowed resource scope. Treat state and saved plans as sensitive artifacts; do not commit credentials, state or secret variable files. Inspect a saved plan for replacements, deletions, IAM and network exposure, then apply only the reviewed plan to the authorized environment. Stop on backend/lock errors rather than disabling locking or force-unlocking another operation. Validate modules in an isolated test environment; a successful plan does not prove deployment safety or absence of charges.

Limitations
- Use this skill only when the task clearly matches the scope described above.
- Do not treat the output as a substitute for environment-specific validation, testing, or expert review.
- Stop and ask for clarification if required inputs, permissions, safety boundaries, or success criteria are missing.
