Frequently asked questions
What is a skill for an AI agent?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file describing how to do one specific kind of task. Agents like Claude Code, Codex, Hermes or DeepSeek load a skill only when needed, so they work more precisely without spending context.
How do I install a skill?
Pick your tool, hit “Copy install command” and paste it in your terminal. The command downloads the skill into the right skills folder, e.g. ~/.claude/skills or ~/.codex/skills.
Are these skills free?
Yes. All 4,166 skills are open source (MIT or Apache 2.0) and each download includes its original LICENSE.
Can one skill work with several tools?
Yes. Claude Code, Codex, Hermes Agent and DeepSeek (Deep Code) all read the SKILL.md standard, so most skills are shared; only the install folder differs.
